One person is dead and dozens more have been injured after a driver plowed through a crowd enjoying the sunset at the Venice Beach boardwalk in California, prompting a hunt for the perpetrator, who fled the scene.?
The dark-colored sedan plowed into the crowd on Saturday, killing one person and injuring eleven, wrote the Los Angeles Times. Ten of the twelve people injured were transported to hospitals, and one person ? said to be on her honeymoon, according to KABC-TV ? died from her injuries.

Police told KABC-TV that they have located the suspect's vehicle, and one person has been detained for questioning in the incident. The driver appeared to be a white male in his mid-20s with sandy blonde hair, noted the Los Angeles Times, and the suspect fits the physical description.?
Witnesses claim that the driver appeared to be very much in control of his vehicle, and was apparently intentionally trying to hit people at the popular tourist site.?
"The tires started screeching," said witness Landon Blackburn to KABC-TV. "...I saw him, and he was looking for blood. That guy, his intention was to kill people."
?This guy had an intent to create mayhem and massacre a lot of people,? said witness Dave Blackburn to CBS Local Los Angeles.?
"It's tragic the fact that somebody, whether accidental or intentional, would come on the boardwalk, where hundreds, thousands of people come here to enjoy the beach," said LAPD Lt Andy Neiman to KABC-TV.?
In a similar 2003 incident, an 86-year-old driver accidentally plowed through the popular Santa Monica Farmers Market, killing nine people and injuring over 54 others, according to CNN.?
