FNB increases equestrian sponsorship

FIRST National Bank Namibia has been a major sponsor of the Namibian Equestrian Federation (NAMEF) since 2006 and has increased their sponsorship from N$30 000 to N$45 000 for this year. The chairman of NAMEF, Tom Newton, received the sponsorship at a demonstration of horse jumping at the gymkhana club. NAMEF thanked FNB for their generous support in developing the sport of show jumping and dressage in Namibia, as well as rewarding competitors for their efforts.

This year?s sponsorship will be allocated to the following events which will be demonstrations of the highest level of show jumping and dressage. 1. FEI World Jumping Challenge at Gymkhana Club ? 26 until 28 August 2011 2. Namibian Open Jumping Championships in Okahandja ? 9 until 11 September 2011. The overall winner will receive a jackpot prize of N$10 000. 3. Namibian Dressage Championships at the Gymkhana Club Windhoek - 24 until 25 September 2011 4.

Prizes NAMEF Gala Awards Evening ? March or April 2012. Spectators are welcome at the events and NAMEF invites people interested in equestrian sports to come along and enjoy these events as well as the regular calendar of horse shows put on by clubs across the country.

? The final results of the 2010 FEI World Jumping Challenge were also released. Special mention goes to: Michelle K?nzle, Silvia Snyman (now Kleyenstuber) and Annette K?nzle who won the Zone 7 Category A (120cm) Team challenge; Charl Kotze and Lara Knickel who were placed 1st and 2nd respectively in the Zone 7 Category B (110cm) Combined results; Alexa Rack, Sophie von Korff and Jolize Barnard who won the Zone 7 Category C (100cm) Team challenge; Alexa Rack and Sophie von Korff who were placed 1st and 2nd respectively in the Zone 7 Category C (100cm) Combined results, as well as 1st and 2nd respectively in the Category C World Combined results.
