A Grass Roots Approach to Small Business Marketing | shaolinusa.org

A small business operated by a single individual, for example: a cat sitter or a dog walking service, could quite easily and successfully be marketed without using the internet. The business owner could create a simple word document themselves stating items such as: what they do, why they should be hired, a list of their rates, short testimonials could be included, maybe some photos and, of course, contact information such as a name and phone number should be included. These flyers could be taken to local businesses: pet shops, veterinarians, gyms, hospitals, colleges, markets, apartment buildings, etc. Really anywhere that will allow them to be posted. It?s important that permission is requested if posting the flyers in public areas. Using this method will get the information about the business out in very specific geographic areas where the demographics are ideal for prospective clients. Lastly, it should be mentioned that taking this route is beneficial for a small business due to its very low cost. You could also consider printed banners as well.
