Lambeau Field's latest transformation is unveiled?Thursday officially making the home of the Green Bay Packers the third largest stadium in the NFL.
"It's pretty impressive for by far the smallest community in the?NFL to have the third largest stadium," said Murphy.
At the ribbon cutting ceremony, Packers CEO and President Mark Murphy addressed sponsors, shareholders and season ticket holders.
"I really just think we've created something that's very special and very unique," said Packers CEO and President Mark Murphy.
Seven-thousand?new seats not only tower over the bowl, but the horizon. Murphy?says he believes the 10th level is the highest?building structure in all of Brown County. The brand new Shopko gate will also accommodate the thousands more people who will attend a game starting this season.
Murphy says it's much more that.
"You've got seats under cover. You've got wide open concourses. Premium and general admission areas, many more concessions and bathrooms," he adds.
Also new are?14 viewing platforms starting on the 600 level. Fans will get?quite a?view from there.?They're?great if you're coming from the concession stand or restroom or if you want to take a break from sitting.
Murphy says it all adds to the already top-rated game day experiences in the?NFL.
"I?think it's going to be just a great benefit to the Packers organization as well as Green Bay, the local community,"
Benefits?were?already evident?during construction.?
"We've had over 2,000 jobs created with the construction and $70 million in wages," said Murphy. "Of the work that was done, 92 percent?of it was with companies in the state of Wisconsin. 70 percent in northeast Wisconsin. And 40 percent in Brown County."
In addition, no taxpayer money was used.
He also thanked fans who purchased stock as $64 million dollars from the sale went toward the bill.
