Three American service members killed by eastern Afghanistan blast

KABUL, Afghanistan - Three American service members were killed by an improvised explosive device attack in eastern Afghanistan Tuesday, local officials said.

The blast happened in the Said Abad district of Wardak province.

The International Security Assistance Force announced the casualties in a statement, saying confirmation and identification would be left ?to the relevant national authorities.?

An Afghan official told NBC News the three victims were American.
